How to choose the right dog photographer - Melbourne

Are you thinking of getting beautiful images taken of your dog to cherish forever? You’re not sure which photographer to choose?

Picking the right photographer for you takes a few considerations in mind. It’s not as simple as just picking the first person that comes up in a google search (as easy and appealing as that sounds). There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing the right photographer for you.

I’ve created a list of a few things for you to consider:

1. When choosing a dog or pet photographer for you, you want to choose someone experienced in photographing dogs. You don’t want to choose the do all photographer, as they may not have perfected the skills in photographing dogs like the photographer who primarily photographs dogs or pets. They know the tricks to get those perfect images. They know the best composition to get you the most artistic and beautiful images.

2. Are you wanting to feature in the images? If you are wanting to feature in your pet images, is this something that that particular photographer offers? Or do they just photograph pets on their own. If they do photograph pets with their families, do you like their images? Are they posed or candid (which do you prefer)?

3. Do you prefer outdoor or studio photography? Are you wanting studio images of your pet? Or do you want them out in nature or in the comfort of your own home? Does the photographer you are thinking of choosing offer what you prefer?

4. Do you like that photographers style? Do you prefer candid or posed images? Do you like the colouring of their images (their editing style)? Do you like the composition and creativity of their images?

5. What do you think of the photographers personality? Are you comfortable with them when you speak to them via phone or message? Do they seem passionate about what they do? What is their history? Have they always loved photographing dogs and pets or are they just doing pet photography as an extra to their business?

These are just a few things to consider when choosing your dog photographer.

Me personally, photographing pets is my passion. I have worked in the veterinary and equine industries my whole life. I have nursed in veterinary oncology and GP clinics. I understand that our pets are our family and they deserve to be captured in our family photos. You deserve to have beautiful images of your pets to cherish long after they’re gone. I specialize in Pet Celebraion of Life photoshoots because I am so passionate about capturing those memories before our pets are gone, however I offer pet photography at any age. My photoshoots are outdoor or in your home and they are mainly candid rather than posed. If you want any more information on a dog or pet photoshoot with me, feel free to send me a message or call me.

Good luck finding the perfect dog photographer for you!
